We’re glad to announce that Piek is finally releasing -on February 20th, 2017- his debut album on Sincopat imprint. An eclectic journey through his electronic music heritage (dub techno, future soul, hybrid beats, contemporary hip-hop).

The artist is considered as one of the most talented electronic musician in Spain (he’s from Pamplona, where Saint Fermín festival is held annually), he was not raised in a tradicional Spanish folklore though, he grew up listening to Sigur Ros, Moderat or Bonobo. “Despertar” is the title for the LP, and will feature vocals from the US & UK (rappers Ryan Roush and Cheney, R&B singer Kash, etc) as well as Colombia (RIA) and Chile (Jim Hast).

The 1st single released was “That’s Me” (feat. Jim Hast)

¡Ya casi lo tenemos! Es una maravilla servirte en bandeja “Despertar“, el álbum de debut del pamplonica Piek en el sello Sincopat (unas líneas más abajo tienes el tracklist completo).

Tal como adelantaba a finales del año pasado cuando os presentaba el 1er single “That’s Me” (feat. Jim Hast), se trata de un delicioso viaje de atmósferas cinemáticas, pop y soul contemporáneo, hip hop futurista, incluso envites de trip hop. El de Elizondo se curtió devorando la música de artistas como Sigur Ros, Moderat, Portishead, Jamiroquai o Bonobo… y esto, se nota en “Despertar”.

El LP cuenta con un buen puñado de colaboraciones internacionales: USA & UK (Ryan Roush,Cheney, Zebulon, Kash) así como de Colombia (RIA) o Chile (Jim Hast). Cuenta además con el músico gaditano Fábel, Hokhok y la rima poética de Tony Phillips hablando de Baztan (donde vive actualmente Piek).

Producer, DJ and dedicated music lover. Piek is one of the most promising and versatile electronic artists of his generation. Always eager for new sound experiences, his versatility and restless nature, make it extremely difficult to pin the artist down to any one genre.

Piek’s broad musical imagination was first sparked as a child. This has allowed him to develop a strong identity: implicit in both his dj sets and many music productions. His sound travels through an extensive spectrum, taking in experimental areas as well as being at home in house and techno.

A prolific producer, Piek already has a remarkable career behind him, having launched his first release in 2010. Thanks to his tireless studio work, he has received nominations as a National Revelation Producer in Deejaymag and at the Vicious Awards. His productions are present in compilations such as Fabric 56 – mixed by the legendary Derrick Carter, or in Balance 021 – mixed by the British sound hero Nic Fanciulli.

Sincopat, Einmusika, Diynamic, Fiakun or Cecille, make up a part of the long list of labels with whom he has worked.

His discography has featured artists such as Lee Foss, Uner, Butch, Alexkid, Mihai Popoviciu, Ian Pooley, Pablo Bolivar and many others.

In July 2013 the SoundCloud staff chose Piek as recommended artist, which provided a powerful push internationally in his career and a loyal community of followers on this platform.

His diversification and natural restlessness made him approach the advertising world in the music production area. What resulted was work for global mega brands such as Wella Professionals and SelectNY – a major player in the world of premium beauty / lifestyle advertising.
