El pasado viernes 8 de abril se nos anunciaba desde Los Ángeles – California el lanzamiento del single “Killing It”, adelanto del álbum “Between Me and the World”. Bajo este título encontramos el nuevo trabajo del aplaudido MC de Brooklyn M1 (cincuenta por ciento del dúo DeadPrez, leyendas vivientes del hip hop más político y reivindicativo) en colaboración con el productor y beatmaker italiano Bonnot (componente de la mítica de banda romana nacida en 1991 Assalti Frontali).
En este disco compuesto por hasta diez temas nos sumergiremos tanto en callejones oscuros de verborrea directa y juiciosa (no faltará el habitual circo político de M1Deadprez), como en frecuencias rítmicas que abarcan desde el trap (“Fill in the Blanks”, “Sacrifice 2”), el dancehall / reggae (“Killing It”, “Relapse”, “Open”) y como no, el hip hop underground (“Number One”, “Between Me And The World”) o de semblante neoyorquino donde la destreza lírica se bate en fino duelo con la caja de ritmo y el jazz (“Real OG”).
El mismo M1 nos da un breve consejo a la hora de afrontar este flamante álbum: “libera tu mente, y así, solo así, tu culo te seguirá en esta aventura… ¡hasta incluso bailarla!”.

M1Deadprez has always been involved in political and community activism, pushing for progressiveness as well as illustrating the changes needed in society and throughout the world. He has branded and views himself as a revolutionary, unlike other label artists; M1Deadprez seeks to continue evolving as a curator of Hip-Hop Culture.
Throughout the years, he has remained active with an array of solo albums, mixtapes, and production work. Other music legends such as Nas and Erykah Badu continue to work with M1. When he isn’t writing music he takes that time to embody the words that he raps to bring authenticity into it his music. M1Deadprez continues to set the bar ahead of others in his industry while pushing music and humanity forward.
Walter Buonanno aka Bonnot is a multi-award-winning composer, producer, multi-talented musician and DJ. He has won awards like the important S.I.A.E. prize as “The Best Italian Independent Composer” when he was only 22. Bonnot continues to be one of the most sought after producers in Europe and for the past 10 years he’s consistently toured in the Hip-hop & Jungle/Drum’n’bass scenes while reaching the Top Ten charts. Bonnot’s refined style has helped him perform alongside General Levy, Assalti Frontali and he also collaborated with the Top Jazz trumpet player Paolo Fresu.
