Fernando Lagreca about ‘Dissociation’:
“’Dissociation’ it’s not the first single of my new LP by mere chance. This song perfectly defines the essence of the album. It is mysterious and atmospheric, at the same time human and it has a soul. Disillusionment and illusion at the same time. The beat may sometimes be very disturbing, while at other times bring calm. It’s a track in which I have all the time mixed feelings, hence the title.
Then, by incorporating the vocals of Chantelle R, it has grown as a more intense track; thanks to that cadence I began to imagine a modern, sexy and very urban environment. Lots of hip movements and sensuality. That’s the why of the music video concept later. You will find Asian Dancehall scene footage, a style that has become very strong over there and that, while still being for a minority, has an important presence at an urban level but without getting to emerge completely, yet another incongruity. Another dissociation.”

‘Dissociation’, así se titular el primer single de ‘Infamous’, el nuevo LP del uruguayo con base de operaciones en Barcelona, Fernando Lagreca. Este largo verá la luz con la llegada de la próxima primavera a través de su discográfica Beautiful Accident. Se tratará de, sin lugar a dudas, su álbum más atrevido hasta la fecha. El más ecléctico, demoledor y audaz.
A su ya habitual manejo de los sintetizadores y las atmósferas electrónicas, sumará esta vez desde urban soul, hip hop a techno, pasando por ritmos rotos (drum’n’bass…). Buena muestra de este nuevo abanico es este single “Dissociation’ donde participa vocalmente la artista todoterreno Chantelle R.

“No escogí por casualidad ’Dissociation’ como primer single del nuevo disco. Esta canción refleja a la perfección la esencia descarada del disco. Es misteriosa, atmosférica, pero al mismo tiempo humana, tiene su corazoncito. Su alma. Desilusión e ilusión de la mano. La base rítmica puede resultar a veces perturbadora, en otras ocasiones genera calma. Es un tema repleto de sentimientos encontrados, de ahí ese título.
Incorporando los vocales de Chantelle R la canción ganó en intensidad. Gracias a la cadencia que incorporó ella, pronto comencé a imaginarme una pieza contemporánea, sexy y todo dentro de un entorno muy urbano. Mucho movimiento de cadera y sensualidad. Ahí radica por qué más tarde del concepto del video clip. Encontraréis escenas de la escena Dancehall asiática, un estilo que se ha vuelto muy fuerte allí y que, sin embargo, sigue considerándose para una minoría. Posee una presencia importante a nivel de calle, pero sin cuajar por completo, otra incongruencia. Otra disociación.”
